DAY 1 – Arrival in KYIV

Arrival at Boryspil airport.
Transfer to a 3- or 4-star hotel.
Hotel check-in and personal time.
20.00–22.00 Welcome dinner at the restaurant.
Enjoy Ukrainian cuisine and welcoming culture right on the first day of your tour.

 

DAY 2 – KYIV

7.00–10.00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
Guided city tour.
We will visit all must-see sights in Kyiv, from ancient cathedrals to the places of revolution in 2014. We will also travel to the Pechersky Monastery, descend into the catacombs with mummies of ancient monks, the Miniature Museum with such unique handmade miniatures as a rose inside of a drilled human hair, a shod flea, a chessboard on the top of the needle and so on.
Lunch at the restaurant.
Optional activity 1: The Golden Gate museum (including transportation, guidance and translation help if needed).
Optional activity 2: A chocolate legend in the Chocolate House (including transportation, guidance and translation help if needed).
Dinner at the restaurant.
Transfer to Kyiv railway station.
20:20 – Departure.

  It’s advisable to take something for breakfast on the train.

 

DAY 3 – Vorokhta village

12:00 – Arrival at Vorokhta railway station.
Hotel check-in and lunch.
18:00 – Group dinner. Get acquainted with Hutsulian cuisine while listening to the stories of a local historian, who will tell interesting facts about the Carpathians.

 

DAY 4 – The centre of Europe / Hiking

9:00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
Optional activity 1: Excursion to the centre of Europe. Visit Dilove village and take memorable photos at the centre of Europe. In the summer there’s also an opportunity to head off to the “dead sea” in Solotvyno.
Optional activity 2: Hiking in the Rebrovach mountain range. We’ll get to Lysyna mountain reaching the ski jump area. Enjoy an outdoor picnic and get inspired by breathtaking surroundings. Return to the hotel.
Optional activity 3: Walking in the forest with a guide. Gathering berries, mushrooms and herbs (according to the season). The walk takes from 2 to 4 hours. We’ll cover 1,5-2 km (or up to 5 km if tourist want to extend their journey).
18:00 – Dinner at the hotel restaurant. An evening walk to a Hutsulian church.

 

DAY 5 – Hutsulshchyna / Homyak Mountain

9:00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
Optional activity 1: Excursion to the Kosiv Museum of Hutsulshchyna Art and Life. Discover the invention of local artisans in Yavoriv — a woolen blanket called lizhnyk. Take part in a lizhnyk making masterclass. Taste freshly prepared trout on the return journey.
Optional activity 2: Ascending Homyak Mountain. Reach the top to enjoy the view of the Chornohora range and the nearest peaks. Stretch your legs on the polonyna – a pasture high in the Carpathian mountains. Amidst the fragrance of alpine herbs shepherds graze their droves of sheep and make cheese, bryndza and vurda.
Optional activity 3: Walking in the forest with a guide. Gathering berries, mushrooms and herbs (according to the season). The walk takes from 2 to 4 hours. We’ll cover 1,5-2 km (or up to 5 km if tourist want to extend their journey).​
18:30 – Return to the hotel. Dinner and folk musicians’ performance.

 

DAY 6 – Yaremche town / Hoverla Mountain

9:00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
Optional activity 1: Excursion to Yaremche town. Prep to get amazed by the history of the Studytskyi-Dorivskyi monastery, visit St. Elijah’s church, walk along Dovbush path winding between rocks towards Probiy Waterfall.
Optional activity 2: Ascending Hoverla mountain with an experienced instructor. This is the highest point in Ukraine. Alternatively, we can visit a trout fishery, where you have an opportunity to go fishing and taste freshly cooked fish.
Optional activity 3: Walking in the forest with a guide. Gathering berries, mushrooms and herbs (according to the season).
18:00 – Dinner at the hotel restaurant. Evening program.
Free time. You can have a pleasant sauna experience in a wood-heated Carpathian sauna with oak whisks and enjoy Carpathian tea with honey (an hour in sauna included into the price).

 

DAY 7 – Verhovyna village / Nesamovyte Lake

9:00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
Optional activity 1: Coach trip to Verhovyna village. Visit the Ethnographic Open Air museum, which is tightly connected to Ukrainian famous people. Come to the Vyshyvanka museum of Halynka Verhovynka displaying a collection of traditional embroidered shirts and original Hutsulian household items, which are freely accessible. You may even try something on. Our next stop is the National Music Instruments museum. On the way back we will drop by the farmstead. The owner will gladly show us around the apiary and offer an apitherapy session.
Optional activity 2. Ascending to Lake Nesamovyte – a unique highland lake concealed in the Carpathians near Hoverla mountain.
Optional activity 3. Walking in the forest with a guide. Gathering berries, mushrooms and herbs (according to the season).
18:00 – Return to the hotel. Evening program.

 

DAY 8 – Bukovel ski resort / Pyatyhatki and Magura

9:00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
Optional activity 1: Coach trip to Bukovel ski resort, which is a must-see spot even for summer trips. The ski lift will take us to the top of the mountain, where you can enjoy breathtaking scenery and views. We wholeheartedly suggest visiting SPA complex VODA with an outdoor year-round swimming pool. Continue your trip to the Yablunetskyi pass (931 m a.s.l.) and Waterfall Zhenetskyi Hook Waterfall.
Optional activity 2: Ascending Pyatyhatki mountain and Magura mountain. The peak of Pyatyhatki overlooks Vorokhta village and the closest mountains: Petros and Hoverla.
Optional activity 3: Walking in the forest with a guide. Gathering berries, mushrooms and herbs (according to the season).
18:00-22:00 – We invite all group members to join an outdoor picnic (weather permitting). Feast on banosh (traditional Hutsulian dish cooked over an open fire), mushroom soup and meat delicacies.

  It’s advisable to take something for dinner on the train.

DAY 9 – Departure to KYIV

9:00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
11:00 – Check-out.
13:50 – Departure from Vorokhta railway station.

 

DAY 10 – KYIV: Uncovering the modern side of the ancient city

5:30 – Arrival in Kyiv.
6:00-7:30 – Breakfast at the restaurant.
A trip to Mezhyhirya or the so called Corruption Museum.
Lunch at the restaurant.
Departure to Kyiv.
Hotel check-in.
Optional activity 1: Murals of Kyiv (min. 10 people). Kyiv is getting rather famous for its beautiful murals, which are all over the city. Almost every mural has symbolic meaning unfolding a story, which gives an insight into Ukrainian history and culture.
Optional activity 2: Mystic Kyiv (including transportation, guidance and translation help if needed).
Free time to enjoy evening city views.
20:00-22:00 – Farewell dinner: Traditional ukrainian dinner.
Ukraine is famous for its cuisine and music. This activity will take you back to the old Ukrainian countryside with traditional dishes and live traditional music.
Night in the hotel.

 

DAY 11 – A warm parting

6:00 – Early rising.
7:00-8:00 – Transfer to Boryspil airport.
9:50 – Departure.
