DAY 1  Arrival in KYIV

Arrival at Boryspil airport.
Transfer to the hotel.
Hotel check-in and personal time.
Welcome dinner at the restaurant.
Enjoy Ukrainian cuisine and welcoming culture right on the first day of your tour.
Night in the hotel.

 

DAY 2 KYIV

Breakfast at the hotel.
Guided city tour (included).
We will visit all must-see sights in Kyiv, from ancient cathedrals to the places of revolution in 2014. We will also travel to the Pechersky Monastery, descend into the catacombs with mummies of ancient monks, the Miniature Museum with such unique handmade miniatures as a rose inside of a drilled human hair, a shod flea, a chessboard on the top of the needle and so on.
Lunch at the restaurant.
Optional activity 1: The Golden Gate museum (including transportation, guidance and translation help if needed).
Optional activity 2: A chocolate legend in the Chocolate House (including transportation, guidance and translation help if needed).
Dinner at the restaurant.
Transfer to Kyiv railway station.

DAY 3 UZHHOROD and surroundings

Arrival at Uzhhorod railway station.
Lunch at the restaurant.
Guided city tour (included).
Find out more about the history of an ancient city, visit the Museum of Folk Architecture, Culture and Life. Zakarpattia Region is the realm of castles. A comparatively small area has more than 10 castles. So our next stop is Nevitskyi castle (or the castle of Wretched Maiden) dating back to the XIV-XVI centuries.

DAY 4 MUKACHEVO and Carpaty village

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
Transfer to Mukachevo.
Mukachevo is the second most populated city in Zakarpattia competing for supremacy with Uzhhorod. Join City on the Latorica Tour to stroll magnificent downtown streets and see the uncomparable architectural diversity of Mukachevo. Discover one of the most beautiful castles in Western Ukraine – medieval Palanok Castle!
Lunch at the cafe.
Transfer to Carpaty village, where we’ll visit the Hunting Castle-Palace of Count Schönborn located at the territory of Carpaty Recreation Centre. Embark on a scenic bus drive towards enchanting Synevir Lake. On our journey we’ll have a stop near the Pylypetst River to see spectacular Shypit Waterfall (meaning “whisper” in Ukrainian). People arrive here from all corners of Ukraine to celebrate Midsummer Night on July 7 accompanied by a soothing rumbling of the stream.

DAY 5 Synevir lake and the mountain-cradled village

Breakfast.
Magnificent Synevir lake sprawls at 989 m above sea level with rainbow, river and lake trout frolicking in its crystal clear waters. Slender 140-160 years old pines are scattered around “Sea Eye”. Walk the mountain path and enjoy the spellbinding views.
Lunch.
After dining,  we’ll set off on a trip to Kolochava – a village lost in the Carpathian mountains. Prep yourself to be impressed by wood architecture and unique museums exhibits. The Kolochava Narrow-gauge Railway Museum features the old steam train and old-fashioned carriages from different epochs.
Returning to the cottages.

 

DAY 6 Seliskaya creamery, Iza village and Rakhiv city

Breakfast.
Join the trip to Seliskaya creamery, one of the few factories, where cheese is made according to the traditional Swiss recipes without preservatives or any other harmful additives. Take part in a Zapkarpattian cheese tasting event.
We journey to Iza village, a Ukrainian centre of wicker weaving, where you can purchase various practical souvenirs from cane. We kindly ask you not to buy furniture sets.

Continue your journey through western towns of Ukraine situated almost on the border with Romania: Khust, Tiachev and Solotvino –  the geographical midpoint of Europe.
Our last stop today is Rakhiv city – the most mountainous city in Ukraine at an altitude of 430-820 m.

DAY 7 Up in the mountains

Breakfast.
Where better place to enjoy the view of the mountains than from the very mountains? The culmination of our tour is travelling in the mountains by a Carpathian ORV. As the car slowly but surely lifts us higher and higher, observe the breathtaking panorama opening from the summit of the Ukrainian Carpathians. This ascension will definitely meet your expectations.
After the trip, feast on a nourishing Zakarpattian lunch with a hint of smokiness.
Free evening in Rakhiv.

 

DAY 8 Thermal bathing and wine tasting

Breakfast at the hotel restaurant and check-out.
Transfer to Beregovo. Everyone is welcome to swim in a thermal pool with the temperature never falling below 33o C. Such a recreational swim will most certainly whet your appetite, which we will sate in a Zakarpattian restaurant serving Hungarian dishes.
After lunch, visit a functioning wine cellar, which origins go back a long way. Tread a damp stone floor, touch real wood barrels storing unique Zakarpattian wine, which is famous far beyond the boundaries of Ukraine, hear the history of viticulture and winemaking in Zakarpattia and for sure taste the best wines of this region.

Transfer to Uzhhorod railway station.
Train departure.

DAY 9 KYIV

Arrival in Kyiv.
Lunch at the restaurant.
Hotel check-in. Free time.
Optional activity 1: Murals of Kyiv (min. 10 people, including transportation, guidance and translation help if needed).
Kyiv is getting rather famous for its beautiful murals, which are all over the city. Almost every mural has symbolic meaning unfolding a story, which gives an insight into Ukrainian history and culture.
Optional activity 2: Mystic Kyiv (including transportation, guidance and translation help if needed).
Free time to enjoy evening city views.
Farewell dinner: Traditional Ukrainian dinner.
Ukraine is famous for its cuisine and music. This activity will take you back to the old Ukrainian countryside with traditional dishes and live traditional music.

DAY 10 A warm parting

It’s time to say “goodbye”. Early rising and transfer to Boryspil airport.
